Anhedonia was written, recorded, and mixed in a tight two week window starting around October 12th. Three of the four tracks are explorations of despair, futility, and indifference as a response to the overwhelming circumstances of the world. The final track, The Best In Us, is art therapy, an attempt to confront your demons through composition. Let it be your light at the end of a tunnel.

Between pandemic induced paranoia and unchecked injustice rampant across the U.S., it's difficult to not spiral out of control either by the incessant news cycle, or the feelings of guilt that come along with it. Am I a good enough partner, father, and friend? Am I a good enough ally? Am I a good enough proponent of justice and equity? Am I good enough? These are the central figures that animate each of the compositions found herein. If they sound uneasy, that's by design.

Because they were recorded and mixed so quickly, this may become a living recording, one that is revisited and updated with superior mixes. Ultimately, it was more important to capture the moment than to toil over fidelity. As such, this captures the essence of the label, one that produces art on the edge of a deadline, a catch and release style of recording that is often seen in avant-garde jazz and beyond, honed here as best as possible.
