John Kirk Sutton and Guy Kelly grew up in Springfield, Kentucky. They began writing and recording music together under the name Soft Scan in 1996. Band names and collaborators have come and gone, but John and Guy have consistently recorded music by themselves ever since.

The four songs on Soar showcase John and Guy’s maturity as musicians and songwriters, and the unique way they work together to create triumphant and dynamic compositions.
